- A technical center for natural building materials, fired clay material and natural stone.
- CTMNC is a technical center working on the research code system (articles L341-1 and the nexts).
- It was founded in 1957 further to a request of bricks and tiles industrials and expanded in 2007 following a request of professionals in the ornamental and building natural stone domains.
- A light organization but efficient on tiles, bricks, natural stone channels' service.
- Thanks to qualified technical team, CTMNC assures collective interests for the account of the profession :
- Normalization
- Quality
- Technology standby
- Technical informations
- Research and development
Purchasing advices
Markets opened to invite bids are :
- Laboratory equipment
- Computing
- Telecommunication
- Engineering projects
- Test service
- Publication and printing
- Surface and air transport
- Maintenance
- Financial services
- Various and complete equipments for all tests on fired clay and natural stone products
- The CTMNC has test means at one's disposal in the domain of clay analysis and ability tests for drying and firing.
- It gets a range of mean tests on products (geometry, compression, porosity, frost, …) and on work (wall and roof) with, notably, the notorious watertighness roof test bed 'Moby Dick".
- Main equipments used for
- Physical and chemical analysis: spectrography, TGA and TDA chromatography, porosymetry, matter analysis, SEM, optical microscope, thermal conductivity

- Clay studies: laboratory installations for grinding, extrusion, drying, firing

- Tests on products: all the dimensional analysis, frost plate, tank frost, compression press, bending press (flexion), thermal shock

- Test on works: compression, climatic frame, test bed on roof (rain and wind resistance), turning green test bed

Utilization of fired clay for the construction suggests a promising future. Combining aesthetic and durability qualities, fired clay products, with a weak impact on environment are leading materials who never stop evolving.
Women and men of the CTMNC's research center work with a logical of shared competences in partnership with many scientific institutes.
